La isla mas grande del Archipielago es Isabela y consiste de 6 volcanes,
de los cuales 5 han estado en reciente actividad, haciendo aparecer Isabela
como una isla con "vida"
Tambien esta isla es muy importante porque 5 de las subespecies de tortugas
gigantes que viven aqui, comprenden el 36% del numero total de las tortugas
gigantes que habitan en el archipielago.
Recientemente un incendio forestal causado por una colilla de cigarrillo,
causo muchos danos a valiosos tesoros biologicos.
