More than one year have passed since the last issue of "Kugahara Now!" was posted. During the absent period, no major changes happened in Kugahara, but I reflect my negligence of lacking detailed investigation on what is happening in my neighborhood.
As the continuation of the previous story on the willow at the "Koban" (police office), I have to tell you that a new tree has been planted as the second generation.
In this issure, a couple of scenes of the last month of the year from Kugahara are reported.

The "Willow II". Although it is still a young tree, it will be a magnificent tree like its predecessor after a couple of decades. A lottery drawing as a part of the year-end sales was being held on the "Lilac Street Kugahara" shopping street. It is really a scene in December. The building in front of the exit of Kugahara Station was demolished. An old-fashoned ciggaret shop and a laundry on the first floor, and a pub "Ninotori" sit in the old building.
The new building, which will be completed in September, 2010, will be 6 storeys high with one floor in the basement, and will accommodate 10 shops and 2 residences.
